Ham & Cheese Sandwich Frittata
NeedTaste |I love grilled ham and cheese, so I wanted to use those flavors in a breakfast-type dish. I came up with this frittata and it turned out great. Call me crazy, but I even added a little dollop of sour cream to my slice. I tried this out on my husband and he loved it. This recipe is simple, quick and very filling.. This quick and easy frittata is great for brunch but is hearty enough for a tasty dinner. Packed with the garlic, onion, and mustard you taste those flavors in every bite. What we really loved was the butter toasted bread addition - so yummy. While the recipe calls for deli ham, this would be great with leftover baked ham too.

INGREDIENTS :
8 slice(s) bread
cubed (I used whole grain white)
4 tablespoon(s) butter
salted
8-10 slice(s) deli ham (I used honey ham)
8 - large eggs
2 tablespoon(s) low-fat milk
1/2 teaspoon(s) garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon(s) onion powder
3/4 teaspoon(s) dry mustard
- salt & pepper (to taste)
1 cup(s) cheddar cheese
shredded
1 teaspoon(s) sour cream
garnish (optional)
cubed (I used whole grain white)

INSTRUCTIONS :
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. On the stove preheat a cast iron skillet to medium heat. ut bread into cubes leaving the crust on. Also chop deli ham into small pieces. Set both aside. n a large bowl whisk together eggs milk and spices. Set aside. elt 3 Tbsp of butter in the skillet and add the cubed bread. Gently toss with spoon until bread begins to brown and becomes crispy about 5 minutes. dd last Tbsp of butter and chopped ham to skillet and cook for another 2-3 minutes until ham starts to sizzle. our egg mixture over bread and ham in skillet. Remove skillet from stove and place in oven. ake in 350 degree oven for 12-13 minutes until eggs are firm in the center. emove skillet from oven and sprinkle shredded cheese over the top. Return to oven and bake for another 3-4 minutes until cheese begins to bubble. et cool for about 5 minutes. Cut into 8 slices and serve with a dollop of sour cream on top if desired.
